Follow the CAI red-white trail marks (sometimes associated with the ˅˄ markings).
There is a trail run in this section of the trail but it doesn't always overlap with the path described here. It is marked with white arrows with a round "stamp".
Via degli Abati is a historical trail that connects the cities of Pavia, Bobbio and Pontremoli. It existed during the early middle ages and was used by pilgrims as an alternative to via Francigena to visit the tomb of San Colombano.
The trail can be broken up into smaller sections.
Bobbio - Groppazzolo - Gropazzolo - Osacca - Cervara - Pontremoli
