Description
This trail follows the orange arrows on the trail marker posts and provides a loop through Paddock River Preserve, a former golf course that is now a city-managed nature preserve.
It is mostly paved, but has a few gravel/dirt segments. It starts out from the parking lot and dips downhill. At the time of writing, the orange and blue (
Shooter's Path Trail) trail markers are quite hard to follow at the beginning, so keep to the right at the first junction around 150 feet from the start. From here, the trail is clearly signed and easy to follow. The trail crosses over and follows alongside the Aurora Branch of the Chagrin River with ample opportunities to observe wildlife and wildflowers. It also connects to
Gilmore's Happy Place Trail (yellow), providing access to the preserve's other trails.
