A pleasant trail in Minoo Park with some valley and river views. Not as intimidating as the name suggests.

Description

This trail begins about halfway up the Minoo Waterfall trail, near the end of the Meiji era buildings. It is very useful for making a lollipop loop. Cross the creek over a nice bridge. The trail initially is fairly wide and flat as it follows the river through mossy forest. Eventually the trail pulls away from the river and heads up a tributary (semi-seasonal).

You'll pass through some cool narrow rocks and then up some small well made switchbacks - look for "Lion Rock" at the top - it actually looks like a male lion with ivy for the mane. After this the trail feels like it stays high above the Minoo stream and offers a few fleeting views back down the valley towards Osaka. There is also a small shelter you could rest at. The trail returns to the Minoo Waterfall which you should finish taking to the falls.
