A steep climb to one of the 14ers. Not unlike the rest of them.

Restrooms can be found at the Missouri Gulch Trail and at the Clear Creek Reservoir water access.

Description

Route starts after major stream crossing where I parked my car. Hike for 3.25 miles on the road until Clohsey Lake where the trail turns to singletrack and starts to climb quickly. It's then 2.4 miles along the Clohsey Lake Trail #1459 to the summit of Missouri Mountain. The climb to gain the ridge is extremely steep and takes a lot of time but elevation is gained very quickly. You can see the summit of Mt. Huron to the west throughout the hike. From the summit, you can see Huron, Elbert, La Plata, Oxford and Belford, and Harvard and Columbia.
