Overview

For those who want to see most of the beauty of the Bigfoot race without having to run 200 miles, this is a run around St. Helen's Mountain and a portion of Mt. Margaret backcountry. The run features fantastic views of Mt. St. Helen's - a volcano that erupted in 1980 - lava fields, mountain lakes, and ridge line running.

Description

The race starts and finishes at Marble Mountain Sno-Park near Cougar, Washington. The course is well-marked for the race, but be prepared for longer-than-usual distances between the aid stations. Make sure to carry plenty of water as the majority of the course is exposed. There are streams to refill the water from, but be prepared for stretches over 10 miles without clear water to refill.

The course is unique and offers singletrack running in forests, exposed ridge lines, and mountain slope running, plus scrambling through lava and boulder fields.
