“Run from a charming museum town, Shushi, to Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh, by traversing a scenic canyon.”— Janapar Trail
When you reach the highway, head straight across the intersection to join a dirt road behind the gas station. Descend the forested road following old metal electrical towers toward the bridge crossing of the Vararakn River. Immediately after the bridge, keep to the right and contour along the opposite side of the canyon on your way to a tiny settlement with a very simple but prominently located church.
The trail will undulate up and down slightly, but will generally descend toward Stepanakert. Continue through the outskirts of the capital, passing more and more residences and amenities on your way to Pyatachok Park and Renaissance Square in the center of Stepanakert.
