Need to Know
Watch out for off-trail poison oak/ivy. It sometimes hangs near the track -- wash exposed skin and clothing after using this trail.
Runner Notes
The northern end of this trail has somewhat technical footing due to a steep grade and erosion.
Description
Starting from
Monterey County Trail 90, parallel to Gigling Road (sometimes labeled as Watkins Gate Road), this hard-packed singletrack winds through oak forest north, crossing several other trails, and ends at a somewhat washed-out 13% grade down to a powerline access road. The trail itself is short, but of good quality, and links up with several other trails in the Fort Ord system.
Flora & Fauna
Oak, local flowers, poison oak/ivy.
