The Yamacraw 50K alternative course would stay south of Rock Creek to avoid the problematic areas due to high water and flooding. This course is approximately 3 miles shorter than our regular 50k course coming in right around the 50K mark. It would start out of Blue Heron and first head north along the Kentucky Trail until meeting with the Sheltowee Trace Trail. The course continues past the original route until the Sheltowee reaches Divide Road. From Divide Road it uses Watson Branch Trail to connect back to the Kentucky Trail and will then head north back to Blue Heron.

The Yamacraw 50K alternative course would stay south of Rock Creek to avoid the problematic areas due to high water and flooding. The course begins in Blue Heron and after a short treck on the Blue Heron Loop Trail, it crosses the tipple bridge, and heads north towards Wilson Ridge along the Kentucky Trail. Once reaching the Sheltowee Trace Trail, just south of Rock Creek, the course continues south on the original 50K course for about 4-5 miles. Instead of turning off the Sheltowee at Trace Branch, the course would continue on the Sheltowee until it reached Divide Rd at the Spring Branch Aid Station. From Spring Branch, the course turns onto Divide Road for just over a mile until turning off onto Watson Branch Trail. For about 1.6 miles runners will be on Watson Branch until it meets the Kentucky Trail. From here, runners will follow the Kentucky Trail north all the way back to Blue Heron for an epic finish at the end of the tipple bridge.

There will be a total of 5 aid stations on the course. 1) Wilson Ridge - 6.3 miles 2) Bald Knob - 10.8 miles 3) Spring Branch - 16.9 4) Ledbetter - 23.8 5) Waters Cemetery - 26.1
