Need to Know

For now the Chutes is a two-way multi-use trail, but (I'm pretty sure) there are plans to build an alternate uphill route and make this one downhill only. Keep an eye out for that in the next couple of years.

Description

Yes this is listed a multi-use trail but it really used is a directional high speed mountain bike downhill with banked sides. There are many trails in this area where multi-use works as well as can be expected depending on how many people are out on a given day that I would run on instead.

If you do end up running this trail be aware of where the tire tracks are because that is where the bikes will be coming down in excess of 20 miles per hour that may not be able to stop if you are around a blind corner.

Really there needs to be an alternate trail made at the top of columbine trail that cuts across in a visible spot that ends up back to the bottom of the chutes allowing for a running loop with an effort to keep bike speeds lower.
