This is a fun local race with a friendly atmosphere, a challenging and remote course, and a great party at the finish. Located just minutes from Nashville, it would be a great way to spend your weekend.
This is a difficult 50K trail race held in mid-March each year. It is directed by John Hardin with Hardwin Adventures. The race starts and ends at his family farm in Pegram, Tennessee. The course is contained entirely in the Cheatham Wildlife Reserve. It is a good mix of singletrack trail and Jeep roads.
There are quite a few stream crossings, and sections where you run straight down/up steep ridges through gas pipeline cuts. The end of the race always involves a party with a keg of beer and a friendly atmosphere. There are also 25K and 12K options. This is a favorite for locals and would be a fun event to base a long weekend in Nashville around.
