“This is a paved path following Ferny Creek, that is open to foot traffic and bikes.”

After heavy rain parts of track maybe subject to flooding.
This trail is clearly signed. Watch out for cyclists. The path is wide and sealed with a small amount of cracking at the side in isolated areas. After heavy winds there may be some foliage on track.
This is an easy paved trail. It is best to start at Upper Ferntree Gully (close to Melbourne Metro Railway Station) and head west on the Ringwood-Belgrave Rail Trail. The Ferny Creek Trail starts in the north corner of Kings Park, at the 90 degree bend in Forest Oak Drive. Following the trail from here west is best as it is mostly downhill in this direction. The trail ends at Stud Road in Rowville.
There is lots of bushland views to the south of the trail.
