“An extremely fun trail with endless views of the reservoir.”
— Paulo Garza
The Anderson Truck Trail is open year-round. Be sure to stay on the main trail as there is nearby private property and there have been issues.
This is an entertaining out-and-back trail east of Flinn Springs. It begins off of the paved Peutz Valley Road about a mile north of Highway 8 (parking is under the freeway).
The trail makes for a good run. The climb can be a little tiring but shouldn't be too much of a challenge if you pace yourself. The first mile or so of trail is all downhill, and it's a nice way to warm up for the next few miles of climbing up a singletrack trail. The climb is exposed and shady spots are not too common, so plan on resting a few times on the way up if it's hot. Even if it's not, bring plenty of water.
The tread consists of some rocky parts and some sandy ones. Along the way, runners will enjoy views of the reservoir. The trail is multi-use so be courteous to other users.
