LLANGANUCO LAKES (3850m) - 30 minute private transport, one way, walk back to LML.
The Llanganuco Lakes are the most iconic attraction in the park, and amongst the top attractions in Peru. We have transformed it into a trek on inca trail, allowing you to almost entirely avoid the crowds*. Moreover we have added Orgoncocha (male lake) and the hitherto unknown Yuyucochas (baby lakes) into your day; all taking advantage of sections of previously undiscovered inca and pre-inca trail. To start your day private transport will take you to your chosen drop off point along the vertiginous glacial carved U-shaped Llanganuco Gorge. Leaving you to enjoy the scenic walk back past the lakes, before plunging through the cloud forest on a little used inca trail; via waterfalls & bromeliad canopies shrouding the towering granite cliffs. The last section is an hour of trek on virgin inca trail rediscovered by us in 2009 through untouched wilderness forest before crossing a stone slab inca bridge to return past local farming to LML.
the crowds arrive on tour buses, visit Chinancocha (female lake) and then depart, leaving our trails unused.
