Runner Notes

There are the usual roots and rocks. Rocks are especially prevalent on the old logging road so watch your step. The old road can also be quite messy after a rain.

Description

Heartbeat Trail starts off of the downhill of the Buchanan Trail and can be taken as an easy alternative to go downhill. The trail goes through a thicket of native ferns. It eventually hits an old logging road and turns uphill just above where the old Gray homestead is located. It goes uphill a good bit, but the climb is paid off with a great vista. From the top, it continues along the border of the property to the water tanks where it meets back up with the Buchanan Trail.

There are the usual roots and rocks. Rocks are especially prevalent on the old logging road so watch your step. The old road can also be quite messy after a rain.

Flora & Fauna

One section runs through a fantastic thicket of native ferns. There's no other section like this on the trail.
