Overview

Do you crave the steepest way to a summit? Try this way.
Features: Waterfall — Wildlife

Need to Know

Bring money for the Notch restaurant.
Remember what direction you came from when you get to summit. There are 4 ways down. But only one has your car at the bottom.

Description

Follow the trail from Falls Rd in the same direction as the Sierra Hut trail. After you do a hairpin turn at the waterfalls, you'll turn off to the left at about mile 1 on a steep singletrack. This is the most beautiful trail up. Less than 1/4 mile you'll see a register to write your last memoirs... haha... from that point look left... look left and walk slowly. You'll see a singletrack going up (of course) take it and keep climbing. At mile 2.7 you'll come to "devil's backbone trail". turn left to hit summit. Then come back down same way... PASS Register ridge trail and follow Devil's Backbone Trail to the Notch for a beverage and French fries (they're plentiful and well deserving).

Now the down.

Go between the restaurant and ski lift buildings to the fire road. Yep... no firewood for you. Hit the trail under the ski lift and go straight down. You'll get lots of cheers from people above you taking the ski lift up!

No chair lift for you!
