Description

Home of the famous Serra do Cipó slaves track, this loop is located on the MG-10 next to the Véu da Noiva waterfall (because it is a waterfall that is easily accessible in the Sierras do Cipó, on weekends it is almost impossible to park nearby).

Despite its short mileage, this trail is very difficult in its first kilometer, which consists of a steep ascent and climb on cobblestone paths built by colonial-era slaves.

What is most striking is the pitch of the trail. From what I read, the quartzite stones that were used range are dug 1.5 m to 3 m into the ground and raise the pavement up to 2 m high in a kind of puzzle.

Signed with yellow signs leading to the river, the trail is quite quiet after the exit from the paved section. Since we did this track on July 19, 2014, there may have been some changes in the track over time.
