The Frozen Heart is a low-key winter race for trail loving runners.
Runners of all abilities are encouraged to challenge themselves to complete one of the three race events. The 3 loop course provides for 3 event distances—50K, 34K, and 17K. Or, you can try the Chesapeake Challenge.
Take the Chesapeake Challenge and complete the Frozen Heart 50K distance in February and the Lower Potomac River Marathon in March! Your races will be discounted, and you'll get a very special award for your efforts!
Frozen Heart proceeds benefit those in need in Southern Maryland. Southern MD Veterans Initiative focuses on solving problems facing veterans and their families by providing necessary services and follow-on support through local community agencies so that no one has to be homeless.
WARM (Wrapping Arms 'Round Many) works in partnership with the Three Oaks Center to provide safe and welcoming shelter during the coldest months of the year to adults impacted by homelessness. WARM offers a place to sleep, two hot meals, and a sense of community to program guests.
