This is an OHV area and the trails can be rutted, eroded, and there can be quite a lot of traffic; not always awesome for running.

Description

Holman is a tough assignment from top to bottom. It is recommended for with a little more experience.

The upper part of Holman starts at the Ridge Trail #157. The route is steep and rugged right away, losing almost 1,000 ft of elevation in the first mile.

There's a bail out point when you reach the Holman Ridge - Cabin Flat #172 trail. This is a good option if the upper part of Holman was too much.

The lower reaches of Holman are even more rugged and steep than the top. The trail gets downright nasty at times with steep and loose terrain littered with loose soil and rocks. There are also a few sections of exposed hillsides as well as some trenched trail.
