Description
This is another of the trails in Davos that seems more difficult than it appears on paper. It is a forest road which makes a good alternative to the busy main road in the valley for those accessing or returning from the trails further south of Davos.
From Clavadel, there is a very steep 25% descent, but for less than a fifth of a mile. This descent finishes just before you cross the road (Sertigerstrasse) heading into the Sertigtal valley.
Along the rest of the way to Davos-Glaris station, the forest road weaves in and out of the forest several times. Although the altitude profile looks flat compared to the trails which head up into the mountains, there are three sharp climbs of 30-50 m (100-150 ft) at 15-20% grade.
