“A screaming downhill run! Or a punishing uphill ride. Your choice.”
— Lee Clark
This is the lower section of River Bluffs Park - the park that's not a park as it was never fully developed by the city of Saint Joseph.
This section begins where the Upper River Bluffs
trail turns to the old stone park structures from the 1930's. The trail is wide. Keep your eyes out for an old rusty car that a tree fell on many years ago as this means you are getting very close to the downhill.
Although wide, the trail is somewhat eroded in places.
The top portion is mostly hardpack. The descent has some gravelly bits mixed into the dirt.
Just before bottoming out at Highland Ave, The Comeback Trail
lies just to the left side. Sometimes folks run on the road from Highland to this point. However, you could also run to the bottom then go back up a few yards to The Comeback Trail
or return on Lower River Bluffs if Comeback needs a trim.
