Overview

Check for closures due to flooding before heading to Brazos Bend.
Features: River/Creek
Dogs: Leashed

Description

This occasionally very muddy loop trail in the northern section of Brazos Bend State Park gets very few visitors. It is only accessible by first running along the Big Creek Bridge Trail to the Bayou Trail for a little over a mile.

The trail follows the northern fence line of the park along a very straight section before turning south / southeast. During this section, you'll follow the treeline along a small bayou and pass the connector to the Creekwood Lake Trail-Long - perhaps the most "remote" trail in the park.

The path will continue along the bayou as it heads east before it meets a cleared section for a pipeline. The trail follows this very straight section back north to where you began.

Flora & Fauna

Watch for alligators and snakes as well as migratory birds.
