Runner Notes

Very challenging with a lot of rocks, roots and bikers.

Description

This is a great trail with lots of traffic during the early hours. Hiking the wrong direction is better to avoid biker collisions.Tree lined trail provides lots of shade and visual impact. Watch for naturally occurring tree roots and rocks and occasionally some larger cliffs and ledges. At the 1 mile marker, take Loop 6-left for a lakeside hike with a couple of creek rock and bridge crossings. There are several nice advantage viewpoints of the lake and its cranes' habitats. Turn around at this lake viewpoint with its tree swing and small resting area or continue on to double the hike distance.
