“A singletrack downhill on a reclaimed forest road.”
— Eric Ashley
The Aubrey Mountain Trail starts with a gradual run through an idyllic forest on a narrow ribbon of singletrack. At half-a-mile, the trail descends to a grassy meadow for another short climb. A long descent heads through a few short rises (keep right) to reach several tightly packed switchbacks.
Once you're through these, the trail turns to the southwest and continues down a reclaimed roadbed on smooth singletrack. The trail will continue to turn down various road sections with a singletrack overlay. Encroaching blackberries can make for some painful encounters as runners continue down the trail to end on the bottom of Heckletooth
