This is a fun loop with several different aspects. Parts of the trail are a little overgrown from under use, so don't be surprised if you have some difficultly navigating (you can always use the Trail Run Project mobile app
to help find your way). From the trailhead parking lot off of Foreside Road, follow the broad doubletrack trail for about 0.2 miles then take a left at the first trail junction.
Follow this trail straight for a while through several muddy spots. Then, after about 0.7 miles, take a left (there should be a large brown metal sign that says no motorized vehicles). Turn onto this trail and go straight for about 0.35 miles then bear right onto a slightly less-used trail. You'll find some more muddy sections and technical spots that go over logs, roots, and rocks. The trail starts up a hill and continues about 0.65 miles in a fairly straight line.
After approximately a half-mile, take a right at the trail intersection. Follow the trail along the edges of a field to the far corner where the trail continues back into the trees. A small climb parallels the river before runners descend back to the road, north of the parking area.
