There's a $6 entrance fee to enter San Bruno Mountain Park. And be careful of poison oak. There's areas where there's a lot of it. The poison oak has mostly been cut back, but it's something to look out for. "Leaves of three, let it be."
Enter San Bruno Mountain Park from Guadalupe Canyon Parkway. After you pass the ranger station, pass the picnic parking, go under the bridge and park at the trailhead.
As you walk up Radio Road you'll see first the ocean start to appear beyond the hills and then the city behind you. Nearing the radio towers at the top you'll see the entire North Bay, San Francisco and the Bay Bridge, then the South Bay as you near the end of the paved section.
After the paved section follow the trail for about 50 yards and you'll see the Ridge
Trail on your left. Follow that and take a right on the Summit Loop Trail
The trail on the way down is full of beautiful views of the city framed by nature, and you end the hike with a walk though a eucalyptus grove.
