At approximately 8.4 miles round trip, this little-used trail is a much shorter way to get to Modjeska Peak than the traditional routes. To get to the trail, you'll drive approximately 3.5 miles up Maple Springs Road
from the Visitor's Center. Approximately a quarter mile past where the road turns to dirt, park at the guardrail at the hairpin turn. You'll see the trail off to the right behind the guardrail. The trail is very easy to follow from that point on. It crosses Maple Springs Road
twice. Eventually you'll get to Main Divide. Follow the road as it heads up and to the right, passing the electrical towers. Continue up the singletrack that veers off the left and get to the peak. There was very little shade and the bugs were terrible, but the views were spectacular at the top.
