Overview

This run is fun and somewhat strenuous, ending with a great view of the Utah Valley.

Description

The trail is beautiful. A break from the typical desert plants and pines found in most of the Wasatch, this trail has significant sections of field grass, maples, and small oaks. There are numerous side trails to venture off and explore as well if your knees want a break from the constant up/downhill that brings you to/from the top of Big Baldy.

There are no real surprises as the trail is well-worn and easy to follow. Once you get to a ridgeline the trail continues straight to Timpanooke Road, but you'll want to take a left at the rock fire ring if you're headed to Big Baldy. Just before the ridge be sure to stop and admire the terraces built in the 1930's by the CCC!

Recommend 1-2 liters of water in the summer, as approximately half of the trail is exposed to the sun.
