Features: Fall Colors — River/Creek
This trail splits shortly after the trailhead and crossing the Appalachian Trail
. This course follows the path to the right, which, for a stretch, is a trail made from an old CCC road from the 1930s. The trail is a steady downhill southerly trek at an easy, low grade. Eventually it rejoins the portion that split near the beginning (making a loop). The lower branch is a trail that tracks along a stream and eventually exits onto Birch Run Road near the northern tip of Long Pine Reservoir.
Rhododendrons are quite prevalent in this area.
