The trail was difficult to follow and overgrown, so you may want to protect your legs accordingly.
This short trail can be accessed (among other ways) via the Chickadee Trail
as part of a loop run from the AT starting at the Old Forge Picnic Area. There are occasional red blazes along the route, but don't count on them. (Instead, you may want to bring the Trail Run Project mobile app
with you to make sure you stay on course.) The trail can be best described as a singletrack through a mixed hardwood forest. We traveled it in mid-summer, and it looked more like a game trail at that point. In autumn, this trail will no doubt disappear underneath the blanket of leaves.
Mixed hardwoods abound in this forest.
