“A one-mile trail through rich surroundings that ends with a short run to the Moon Point viewpoint.”
— Eric Ashley
From FR 439, head south for three-quarters of a mile through scenic trees and meadows. The climbs are easy and a bit of rolling elevation translates into a mellow descent down to the intersection with the Young's Rock Trail #3685.
Turn right to head up to Moon Point for a dizzying view of the expansive Willamette National Forest to the west. The last little bit is fairly rugged, so plan on a bit of tricky footing.
