Overview

Combining the Northwest Trail and the Ridge Loop Trail at Eagle Mountain Park forms an entertaining and beautiful run through varied terrain.

Description

This looped route combines the Northwest Trail and the Ridge Loop Trail at Eagle Mountain Lake Park. Starting from the pavilion near the parking lot, head through the fence to the west and take the first right onto the Northwest Trail. Follow the trail - it is well marked - past the Lake Police dock and up to a picnic / rest area with a shaded picnic table and restrooms. The Northwest Trail then continues back down the ridge to an intersection with the Ridge Loop Trail. Turn left onto the Ridge Loop Trail and enjoy several lake - level views across Eagle Mountain Lake.

After about a third of a mile along the lake, the Ridge Loop Trail turns back to the northeast and climbs about 70 feet to the top of a small ridge. A short jaunt along the ridge brings you to a great place to stop and look across the lake. You can use the wooden bench at the side of the trail or sit on the ledge of rock just beyond for unobstructed view of a very pretty lake.

Follow the Ridge Loop back to its intersection with the Northwest Trail and retrace your steps back to the pavilion to finish the run.
