“A beautiful trail race in scenic O'Neill Regional Park.”— Jodi Hoose
Featured Race - Feb 16, 2019
The first two miles of the trail are the hardest part, with several moderate-to-difficult climbs. Almost all of your elevation gain in the first two miles! Once you get on Coyote Trail, which is a short singletrack, you'll get on Paw Foot/Live Oak which is a wide fire road. The trail straightens out, and you can see beautiful views from the top! Stay on Live Oak Canyon, turning left at the intersection of Live Oak/Coyote Run. Here you'll have a steep climb, where you'll see the water station (at approximately mile 2).
From the water station, continue another short climb to the top, and proceed down Vista Trail, a windy, singletrack trail that is a nice change from the uphill climb! At the bottom of the hill, you’ll turn right on Hoffman Homestead, a shaded singletrack trail. When you exit Hoffman Homestead (approximately mile 4) take a left turn onto the road, followed by another immediate right turn. Follow the signs to turn right to head up Live Oak Road for the last climb of the run!
