Update

A route that is highlighted by waterfalls, Glacier Point, Half Dome, El Capitan, and the Yosemite Valley.

Bill Sycalik

Overview

A scenic climb to Glacier Point is followed by a run down the Four Mile Trail with spectacular views of Yosemite Falls and two thirds of a loop of the Valley Loop Trail which hits all the highlights of the park.
Features: Views — Wildlife

Runner Notes

Please note: the entire trail up to Glacier Point, down the Four Mile Trail and on the Valley Loop Trail is mostly PAVED. Really. I totally didn't expect that. The best I can determine, NPS is letting the pavement degrade back to a gravel-like surface, but there is still a lot of asphalt especially on the Valley Loop Trail. Either wear a highly cushioned trail shoe or road shoes. Aggressive/rock plate trail shoes will hurt your feet after 26.2 miles.

Description

The run starts with a steady climb up to Glacier Point. From here enjoy the views before heading down the very steep Four Mile Trail (which is actually 4.8 miles). The Four Mile Trail is hard on the quads. From here, connect to the Valley Loop Trail and run around to Yosemite Falls. The Valley Loop Trail allows you to see great views of many of the park highlights - Bridalveil Falls, Yosemite Falls, El Capitan and more!
