Overview

This route offers a great example of the forests in the park. It also allows you to run on the Cinder Cone volcano.

Need to Know

You are not likely to see anyone on the trails except at the Cinder Cone Trail. Be prepared.

Description

You'll enjoy scenic singletrack running from the Cinder Cone Trailhead down to Horseshoe Lake Trail around Snag Lake and Bathtub Lake. This is followed by a run up onto the Cinder Cone volcano and around the rim.

There are some spectacular views from the top of the volcano. Overall, this is a great experience running in a volcanic forest.
