Lovely dirt trails travel a wild feeling stretch of the American River where you might forget that the city (with its denser homeless populations west from Watt to the Sacramento River) is there on some oak wooded curves. Still, as always, be aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts if you don't feel safe in a situation.
Everything is level here, unless you go up and down the dikes. People on bikes and horses will share the trails with you. Families swim and fish nearby.
Flora & Fauna
Riparian plants line the river banks, and oak woodland extends beyond these.
