Description

Trail sits on over 22 acres near the Sternberg Museum of Natural History. Pretty easy, with some slight grades and roots to watch out for. There's a gazebo with benches at the trailhead, and an amphitheater near the creek. Chetolah trail follows Chetolah Creek, winding through trees and other vegetation. The Prairie Crossing trail and Monument Ridge wind through fields with native grasses and flowers. On Cactus Ridge, you'll see lots of prickly pear cactus and there's a nice view of the Chetolah trail.Cottonwood Cove loop winds through thicker stands of trees, while Oxbow loop is a nice, short, fairly flat side trail with a few benches added as an Eagle Scout project.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of native wildflowers that bloom especially in spring. Sunflowers are abundant in late summer/early fall. As far as animals, mostly turtles, frogs and maybe a baby snake.
