A nice, secluded trail off the boardwalk path with a good pond view at the end.

Overview

Features: Fall Colors — Lake — Views
Dogs: Leashed

Description

Use the boardwalk that begins in the parking lot, and turn off it when you see the Maritime Forest Trail sign. The path is clearly marked with markers and has benches along the way. At the end is a nice view of the water, though it can be swampy. It's not a loop, when you reach the end you simply turn around and follow the markers back. My dog and I did the whole thing easily in about 45 minutes. Then we continued to the end of the boardwalk path for another view.

Muddy - The mud is really only an issue if hikers are in casual footwear or don't want to risk getting a little wet. Should dry up soon.
