Description

Grass Lake makes a great destination for shorter trips or a nice detour for a longer day. Plan for just under 5.5 miles if running this as an out-and-back trip from the trailhead. To access this mellow spur, follow the instructions for the Glen Alpine Trail for the first portion of the run.

From the intersection with the main Glen Alpine Trail, it's just over a mile of running, some scrambling, and two creek crossing to get to the granite enclosed shores of Grass Lake. Once there, enjoy the views of this gorgeous alpine lake which is a great spot to cool down or enjoy lunch.

Flora & Fauna

The grades are good if you're looking for some exercise, but watch out for plenty of rocky footing.
