There is a little bit of pavement at the start, then all the rest is in the woods. The course features a few good challenging uphills followed by the best part of this run, the "Sulphur Springs " Trail downhill where you get to run the mountain bike banked turns and whoop dee doos!

Need to Know
Stop at the ranger station at Lake Placid and buy a map. It is worth the few dollars.
This is a multi-use trail so you may see leashed dogs, hikers, and mountain bikers along the way.
Start at first parking lot on right from park entrance; run on the road until taking a right at Mountain Creek Trail after the ranger station. Next, take a left on Sulphur Springs. Then turn right at the round pavilion up the hill. You'll next take a right on the forest road and head back to Park Road. Take a left on Park Road - this is a steep hill. Next, turn right into the "Archery Range" which is the first parking lot on right. After this is it straight downhill onto Sulphur Springs. Continue on Mountain Creek until coming to the finish at Ranger Station pavilion.
