The route is a great 5k loop that follows the Rio Grande within part of the world's largest contiguous cottonwood forest.

The trail begins along a wide Levy Road just west of the bike-pedestrian trail. After mile 1.5, it turns into gravel road as it makes its way into the bosque. At mile 1.7, the trail turns into singletrack. The trail will make its way between cottonwood forest and open air as it snakes its way along the Rio Grande, eventually returning to the Levy Road next to the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
