Description

FR 9b follows the East Fork of Indian Creek. This is a long valley surrounded by National Forest. Car campers overrun this area in summer, especially on weekends. In the off season and when the USFS decides to close the road due to adverse conditions, this area becomes quiet and mostly unvisited by humans.

About a mile before the road fades into the forest there is a new stream crossing where there was once a concrete ford. Recently the USFS has gone through a stream remediation project which has opened up the East Fork of Indian Creek for fish to move more freely while cleaning up a lot of silt deposited in the pools formed behind two such concrete fords.

Currently, there is a dry weather crossing to gain access to the deeper reaches of 9b.
