Description

Indian Creek Road provides access to a large swath of National Forest outside the Red River Gorge proper. This area is popular with car campers primarily, but also with fisher-people, traditional rock climbers, and adventurous hikers and runners.

From time to time the US Forest Service closes all or portions of this road and its two forks providing a nice, quiet, experience. When the gates are locked, the road is a great run. This is also a great time to just get away from everything.

When the gates are open I wouldn't recommend this road for families as there can be heavy motor vehicle traffic, especially on the weekends.
