Description

Trail starts at the parking lots and straight up the Sledding hill. Then along the woods and will may your first right onto the first trail through the woods. There are a few main loops through the woods plus you go around the different loops as much as you want. I recommend keep walking back into the woods as far as you can go to start. That trail will eventually loop around to a stream. There a few off trail options here for the adventurous sort. Once you loop back, you'll eventually come back out the woods you came. Once hit the main paved Park trail again, make another right. You'll walk a little bit and you'll see a park bench on your right and a trail marker for the "Freedom Trail" Follow the Freedom Trail through the woods. Although a shorter wooded trail, this one is more challenging due to all the twists, turns, gentle up and down, and a few small little watering holes. Be care of the muddy sections. You'll also pass a picnic site and grill pit for a local company that is not a part of the park. Once you emerge again from the woods you'll see the children's playground and parking lot across the street. Make a right back on the main park paved trail. You'll stay on this main trail for the rest of the hike. You'll see some nice grasslands, birds, and maybe some wildlife (I've seen some deer a few times in the fields). Toward the end you'll go pass your starting point, loop around, and end with coming back over the sledding hill from the opposite side. Stop for a minute or two at the top to enjoy the view before going back down. Finally ended where you started.
