Run once a year, this is a great trail race for those looking for adventure! Beautiful scenery combine with great trails to make for an exciting route.
A challenging but rewarding 10k trail race, located in Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City, NV. Starting out on the Lower Lake View
Trail, you run down for most of this trail with slightly obscured views of Lake Mead Recreation.
Then you connect with River Mountain Trail
, and begin your ascent into a natural valley. At the vertex of the valley, you reach the base of the mountain and begin to climb via switchbacks. Switchbacks that appear to go on forever but in reality have an end. Stick with it; you're almost there!
At the top you'll be rewarded with a lovely view. After catching your breath, you can loop around on the Boy Scout
Trail for a small distance, before heading down to West Leg
. From there it's all downhill, mostly. Eventually, you'll reach Girl Scout
and end up back at the gazebo.
