Mostly singletrack trail. A few rock scrambles and stream crossings. Fun ridgeline running.
Lots of interesting rock scrambles and a fair share of boardwalks fording the wetlands.
Bimbler's Bash is a 10k-ish course in Guilford CT. The start is at the AW Cox Elementary School and heads out across the fields and into Westwoods park.
The trail quickly shrinks from doubletrack to singletrack. It crosses several stream beds and depending on how wet the season you are in you may want to have a spare set of shoes in the car. The race is in early April so it's generally pretty wet then.
Going north, the trail runs along a few low rugged ridge lines and switchbacks to the valleys. Turning south it crosses features including boardwalks and a few rock faces. At the southernmost point of the course, there is a significant rock scramble that has a nice new from the top.
Back down the southern scramble the course goes up and down constantly until turning back towards the finish back at the elementary school.
