The western section from Hermit's Rest to just before the path stops paralleling Hermit Road to head towards Pima Point is not open to bikes. Bikes are allowed on the section of the Hermit Road Greenway from Pima Point to the Monument Creek Vista.
Nicely paved, wide trail suitable for long runs.
The Hermit's Road section of the Greenway Trail is a true gem. It has some of the best viewpoints of the Grand Canyon that you can see from the South Rim. This gentle path has very little change in elevation making it suitable for most users and even accessible to wheelchairs. Many folks enjoy alternately hopping on the shuttle buses and then hopping off to run sections of the Rim Trail
and the Hermit Road Greenway. The scenery is wonderful and on a quiet day from Pima Point you can hear the Colorado crashing through Granite Rapid far below.
