Dense aspen and pine forest with mountain views.

Mike Davis

Features Views · Wildflowers

Private property with access rights, stay on the trail.

Runner Notes

The trail is rocky in spots. This is a main trailhead access point to the Idlewild trail system.

Description

The main trailhead is in a neighborhood. From the road parking, it is 100 yards to an access gate with notices about entering private property. Access is granted along the trail only, so please stay on the trail to help maintain access.

The trail has a slight uphill grade for a short time and then levels out for the remainder. Run through dense pine and aspen forests along singletrack. Note that this trail is open to mountain biking and is a popular bike destination.

Flora & Fauna

This area has been heavily impacted by pine beetle kill. Aspens seem to be taking over.
