KC93 Ci

Overview

Open March through November.
This steep, yet beautiful run passes by three waterfalls rich in Native American folklore on its way along Glen Onoko Run. Perfect as a day run accompanied by a visit to nearby Jim Thorpe for shopping or a meal.
Features: Cave — Fall Colors — River/Creek — Swimming — Views — Waterfall
Dogs: Leashed

Runner Notes

Not well-maintained.

Description

Park at the lot and head down below the bridge that you drove across to get in. Take a right under the bridge and follow the Glen Onoko Trail upstream. The trail gets progressively harder as it passes next to the stream and up over eroded embankments. After the third waterfall, there should be a little fire pit. There is also a nice view, but the main attractions are the waterfalls.

You can either follow the switchback down or backtrack down past the waterfalls. Going down by the waterfalls can get dangerous, however.

This trail is not to be taken lightly, but as long as you are careful there should not be too much to worry about. The trail is steep and a few people have even been taken out on stretchers.
