Runner Notes

Great out and back loop with a bit extra at the end. Turn around is at the top of the knoll and a great spot to enjoy the vista. The additional extra piece at the ends returns to the starting trail about 100M south of small quarry.

Description

The trail starts at the parking lot of the Old Coach Trail and is very well marked. Run up and over the hill past a small quarry and north on the dirt road following the signposts. Split off to the left at the well-defined singletrack. The trail wanders around and crosses the dirt road, just stay on the singletrack. The trail heads up a knoll to a vista, enjoy the view all the way down the valley.

Turn around and follow your tracks back. At approximately mile 5, you'll see a "Y" in the trail. Left will return the way you came, right will add the additional distance for a 10k and take you past more scenic points above the river. This section easily returns to about 100 meters south of the small quarry you passed in the beginning. Head north 100 meters and then follow the large trail back to the parking area.

All the singletrack is well defined and easy to follow. Small roots and rolling hills.
