the trail starts from Godfrey Road in Benson and heads north till you get to Piseco Lake where it comes out to Route 8 where there is a small country store. At this point you have been in the woods for 2 nights and 3 days. From here the trail follows Hasskell Road for a ways and then back into the woods. From here you'll begoing through the Jessup River Wild Forest and then the West Canada Lake wilderness area and strait up through the Moose River Plains wild forest. When ya get to the West Canada lake wilderness area you'll start to find many lean-tos that are in great shape. You'll then come out to another road , and its a main road, route 30. Here you are at the Lake Durant Campgrounds and here you can have a hot shower and get some fresh water, there is another store just down the road a couple miles. At this point you have been in the woods for 5 nights and 6 days. The next road you'll come to is route 28N should take ya another 2 days. After you cross 28N you'll be going along Long Lake for an entire day !!!Lean-tos all over the place in this neck of the woods!!! Once you get past Long Lake your in the woods for another 4 or 5 days so make sure you have enough food when your at Lake Durant you need to take a day and walk to the store about a mile away or have a stash here !!!
